Gotchas that bite people
Free projects pause after 1 week of inactivity — fine for dev, risky for low-traffic production
500 MB database limit includes indexes and WAL overhead — real usable space is less
No daily backups on free tier
Direct database connections are IPv6-only — on an IPv4-only network (most Indian home ISPs) you MUST use the session pooler connection string instead
Notes for developers in India
Mumbai (ap-south-1) region available — we measured 5ms hot query latency from India via the session pooler. Note: direct connections require IPv6, which most Indian home ISPs don't route; use the pooler.
