About FreeTierWatch
Free tiers are the lifeblood of side projects — and they keep dying. Heroku killed its free tier. Railway replaced its with a one-time credit. Fly.io quietly dropped its free allowance for new accounts. PlanetScale removed its free plan. Every one of those changes broke thousands of apps and invalidated thousands of tutorials.
FreeTierWatch exists to be the page you check before you build on a free tier — and the alert you get before one dies under you.
Our rules
- Every data page is verified by a human and dated. If we haven't re-checked it recently, the date tells you.
- Every self-hosting guide is actually deployed first. Real RAM numbers, real screenshots, real failure modes.
- Changes are logged. When a provider changes its free tier, the page history shows what changed and when.
How we make money (full disclosure)
Some outbound links — mostly to paid VPS and hosting providers — are affiliate links. If you buy through them, we earn a commission at no cost to you. Two hard rules:
- Affiliate status never changes a verdict. Several of our top recommendations (Supabase, Cloudflare, Oracle Free Tier) pay us nothing.
- Data pages (free tier limits) contain no affiliate influence at all — they're facts, dated and sourced.
